Let Me Introduce Myself

Hello and Welcome to my site!!

My name is Kathy Stockbridge and I am a Central New York photographer and adventure blogger.  I began my business in 2007 after a trip to NYC's Statue of Liberty. Ironic how it was Lady Liberty that welcomed me to my new adventure in photography, and it's been a wonderful adventure meeting folks, capturing moments, and traveling all over the world to do so ever since.

My fifteen second elevator pitch!!!

  • I am a self taught photographer and I am constantly evolving my skills and techniques to capture the most one-of-a-kind moments possible for my clients.

  • I am very family oriented.  Clients to me are family.  I get to know them each individually; their likes, their style, their dreams, and they quickly become part of the Flashback family.  Each session is structured to capture the spirit of each client.  I want my clients sessions to be a personal reflection of who they are, and you can't do that in a cookie cutter manner.

  • Music plays a big part in who I am.  Like a photo, it too breaks language barriers. Back in 2011, I had an opportunity to shoot my first concert with one of my favorite musicians of all time, Jackson Browne.  Although it began there, it would be the next show at the State Fair when I shot The Script, that sealed my fate as a music photojournalist.  The intro to "You Won't Feel A Thing" began in the dark.  As the music began to play, the lead in began with the guitar, then the percussion joined in and the sound built from there in anticipation. As I awaited the lights to come on and the singer to begin the song, I posed ready and waiting for the moment. When the spot light went on, and  Danny O'Donahue began singing, I was a goner.  That moment of adrenaline hooked me forever.  It was a moment that began many wonderful years of musical experiences with some of the biggest names in the music industry. I'm still at it today, but not quite as often as there are new adventures to be had.  But you'll still see me up front in the pit at a show for 315Music.com every once in a while. If you haven't had a chance to check them out, follow the link here to read many of my articles and interviews, as well as the latest in the music industry today..

  • Finally, I have developed a bad case of wanderlust.  I love traveling, meeting others, sharing cultures, and seeing the beauty all around us. I long to travel locally, nationally, and to foreign lands. After my youngest went off to college I found the urge to travel even stronger, and that's what led me to begin my newest adventure; my new travel blog "Empty Nest Adventures".  My blog will feature my latest excursions and recommendations.  I will share all my travel tips on how I got there, where I stayed, places I visited, shops and restaurants I recommend, and how I did so on a very limited budget.  Trust me...being a single mother with one income for years, I have been able to pull off some really cool vacations on a shoestring for my family!!  I've got this folks!! To learn where I'm off to next, where I've been, and what I've been up to...subscribe down below.
